How do I hand over my BMW to a valet parking service or to my BMW service center if I use the BMW Digital Key on my smartphone?

BMW recommends that you hand over your vehicle to a valet parking service or to your BMW service center with a vehicle key, the BMW Key Card to your BMW Digital Key, or the Service Card (depending on availability). Alternatively, as the primary user, you can share the BMW Digital Key with the service employee. To restrict access to vehicle functions and your personal data and settings, activate "valet parking mode" in your BMW with BMW iDrive Operating System 7 or BMW Operating System 8/8.5.  For vehicles with BMW Operating System 9, remove the vehicle key from your BMW ID and log your BMW ID out of the vehicle.

 

Please note: The Service Card for your BMW Digital Key is already linked to your vehicle when it is delivered, but it is deactivated. Only activate the Service Card when required and then deactivate it again. Keeping a deactivated Service Card in the vehicle is safe. An activated Service Card unlocks and starts your vehicle, so for security reasons you should keep it in a safe place outside your vehicle.
