How do I add another driver profile to my BMW?

Driver profiles can be created to store personal vehicle settings. If the vehicle is used by multiple drivers, each driver can create his personal driver profile. When a driver profile is selected, the vehicle will automatically apply the stored settings in the driver profile.

Depending on which BMW Operating System your vehicle has, perform the following on your iDrive screen to add an existing BMW ID to your vehicle:

1. To add a driver profile, tap the driver profile icon or profile picture on the status bar.
2. "Add profile"
3. Change additional settings as necessary, e.g., automatic driver recognition.

1. Tap the BMW ID icon or the personal image on the status bar.
2. "Add BMW ID"
3. Scan the displayed QR code with your smartphone.
4. Observe the instructions on your smartphone.
• If you have installed the My BMW App on your smartphone and saved your BMW ID, the BMW ID is automatically transferred to the vehicle.
• If you do not have a BMW ID yet, you a new BMW ID can be registered.
5. Select the other settings you want to change, e.g., to configure driver recognition as desired.

To configure driver recognition, the corresponding vehicle key or digital key must be detected in the vehicle.

Driver recognition can be set or changed in the settings at a later time.

1. Change any additional settings as necessary.

Alternatively, the BMW ID can be registered by an authorized service center and added to the vehicle. The BMW ID must then be confirmed on the control display in the corresponding vehicle.

The vehicle is added to the user’s My BMW App.

If a vehicle is used by several people, each person can use their own BMW ID in the vehicle. If a BMW ID is activated, the settings stored for it are applied to the vehicle.

Perform the following on your iDrive screen to add an existing BMW ID to your vehicle:

1. Tap the icon or personal picture in the status bar.
2. "Add BMW ID"
• "Log in with My BMW App"
• "Log in with BMW ID"
3. Scan the QR code shown on the display. The BMW ID is transferred from the My BMW App.
• Enter the access data for the BMW ID.
4. The following settings can be selected:
• "Synchronize BMW ID" - The settings stored in the BMW Cloud are applied.

• • "Transfer settings" - If the vehicle is in the guest profile, the settings of the guest profile will be applied.

• • "Continue"

The vehicle is added to the user’s My BMW App.

Three personal driver profiles can be created.

Perform the following on your iDrive screen to add another Driver Profile:

1. "CAR"
2. "Driver profiles"
3. Tilt the Controller to the right.

As an alternative for Steps 1 to 3, the profile image can be tapped in the top status bar.

        4. "Create driver profile"

An existing ConnectedDrive account must be assigned to a driver profile. The following options are available for this purpose:

• • "Via My BMW App"
  • Scanning the displayed QR code will accept the access data for the ConnectedDrive account from the BMW app.
  • "Log in"
  • The access data must be entered via iDrive.
  • "New registration"
  • Scan the displayed QR code and follow the instructions on the smartphone.

         5. "Synchronize driver profile"

Future changes to the settings are synchronized with the BMW Cloud.
