What are the criteria for completing a ChargeForward smart charging session?

All criteria must be met to complete a smart charging session and earn incentives:

  1. You are charging at one of your selected locations with the vehicle enrolled in the program.
  2. If you drive an All-Electric vehicle, the battery level must be greater than 12% at the time you plug in.
  3. The departure time must be at least 30 minutes after the vehicle is plugged in and the vehicle must stay plugged in for at least 30 minutes.
  4. The vehicle must be plugged in until target SOC is met or departure time is reached.

Note: We recommend setting your Charging Mode to "Charge Immediately" on your in-vehicle control display or via the My BMW App. This allows our systems to gather data that will be used to smart charge your vehicle. (Please note: Our system learns the specific charging behavior from your vehicle and may not optimize for the first several sessions).
