You can use automatic car washes with your BMW. Close all windows and doors as well as the tailgate before entering the car wash. Remove detachable add-ons, e.g., roof bars or antennas. Fold in the exterior mirrors.
Your vehicle must be able to roll freely in tunnel car washes. Turn on the drive-ready state, turn off the "Auto Hold" function, set the selector lever to position "N" and do not depress the brake pedal. Deactivate the windshield wipers and, if present, the rain sensor. You can also use a tunnel car wash with active Intelligent Safety systems. To avoid unwarranted warnings from Park Distance Control (PDC), deactivate the automatic activation of PDC in case of detected obstacles. The function of the ultrasonic sensors may be limited in tunnel car washes.
In gantry car washes, park your vehicle with the selector lever in the "P" position, apply the parking brake and turn off the drive-ready state. If you lock the vehicle when you leave it, e.g., by automatically locking it with the BMW Digital Key Plus when you leave the activation area, deactivate the alarm system. If you do not lock your vehicle, deactivate the contactless opening and closing of the cargo area.
Follow the operator's instructions. If you have any questions, please contact the supervisory staff.
Please note: Briefly dry the brakes after washing the vehicle. Further information on the use of car washes or tunnel car washes can be found in the BMW Driver's Guide App or in the Owner's Manual for your BMW.
