How does the cornering light work in my BMW?

The cornering light in your BMW provides added illumination at the front corners of the car for improved visibility when carrying out low-speed maneuvers such as when parking, turning into a driveway, making U-turns, and traveling along extremely winding roads. They are activated when a turn signal is used, when reverse is engaged, or by a large steering angle. When turning, only the cornering light located on the inside of the turn will illuminate. When the turn is completed, the light will extinguish automatically. When reverse gear is selected and the headlights are on, both cornering lights will illuminate until the car is placed in D (DRIVE).
