Whether pedestrians or cyclists – especially in the city, you have to keep an eye on the roadside. Your BMW recognizes this too. Accordingly, the Adaptive LED Headlights automatically illuminate the lateral areas more strongly. On the highway, however, your gaze is mainly directed forward. Consequently, the headlights automatically adjust the headlight range – the beam becomes narrower and longer. Other functions that distribute the light variably: Bad weather light, roundabout light and country road light. The Adaptive LED Headlights in your BMW include low-beam and high-beam headlights, daytime driving lights and accent lights with turn signals. They are also equipped with Adaptive Light Control including variable light distribution and cornering light, as well as the non-glare high-beam assistant. It detects oncoming vehicles as well as vehicles in front and automatically excludes them from the main beam. In contrast, the conventional series LED headlights have only two states: Low-beam headlight/headlights and high-beam headlight.
