With ambient lighting, you can create a relaxing, cozy lighting atmosphere in the interior, especially in the dark. Ambient lighting is switched on when the vehicle is unlocked, and switched off when the vehicle is locked. If the ambient light was deactivated via iDrive, it will not be turned on when the vehicle is unlocked.
Perform the following in the iDrive menu to activate/deactivate ambient light:
- Apps menu
- "Vehicle"
- "Interior lighting"
- If necessary, "Ambience"
- "Ambient lighting"

- To select the color: perform steps 1-4 and then select "Color" and the desired setting:
- To adjust the brightness: perform steps 1-4 and then select "Brightness" and the desired setting.
- To adjust the Dynamic light: perform steps 1-4 and then select "Dynamic light" or "Lighting events" and the desired setting.
- To dim the lighting at night: perform steps 1-4 and then select "Reduced for night driving"
