What is "Caring Car" in my BMW with BMW iDrive Operating System 7?

The "Caring Car" function is intended to support a driver who feels tired or stressed while operating their BMW with BMW iDrive Operating System 7. Your BMW offers two programs: "Vitalize" and "Relax".

 

  • Vitalise Program: Designed to refresh the driver, it activates calming green ambient lighting and sets the air conditioning to a cooling 65 degrees. Active seat heating is also engaged.

  • Relax Program: Aims to relax the driver by dimming the ambient lighting to a darker bronze tone and setting the air conditioning to a comfortable 73 degrees.

 

The programs automatically orchestrate the settings for ambient lighting, air conditioning, seat heating/ventilation, massage, air freshening and shading of the sliding/tilting sunroof and rear window for 3 minutes. During the runtime, suitable music is played depending on the individual settings. 

Due to the Attentiveness Assistant function, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant optionally recommends a vitalizing program to the driver as soon as the requirements for the warning have been met.

 

Please note: This feature is available in most 5 series, 7 series, X5, and X7 models produced spring 2019.
