What is the purpose of the LED in the wireless charging tray of my BMW?

An LED is installed in the wireless charging tray, which indicates the current state of charge of the smartphone. If the LED is blue, the mobile phone is charging. The blue LED stays illuminated once the inserted mobile phone with Qi capability is fully charged. If the LED is orange, the mobile phone is not charging. Temperature of the mobile phone may be too high or foreign object may be in charging tray. If the display is red, the mobile phone is not charging. Contact an authorized BMW Center or another qualified service center or repair shop.
