To download a BMW Remote Software Upgrade to your smartphone via the My BMW App, BMW recommends that you select the default settings "Download automatically" and "Download via Wi-Fi only". Software upgrades for your BMW can be 1 - 2 GB in size. Depending on your data account, downloading via the mobile communications network can therefore incur considerable costs. To change the settings, select the following in the My BMW App:
- "Check status" ("Vehicle" tab)
- "Remote Software Upgrade" ("Software" section)
- "Software update settings" or "Adjust".
Please Note: Insufficient space on your smartphone will delay Remote Software Upgrade.
