Can I use the Anti-Theft Recorder in the My BMW App?

With the Anti-Theft Recorder as part of the "BMW Drive Recorder" vehicle app, you receive a notification from the My BMW App when the alarm system of your BMW is triggered and can view snapshots from the cameras of your BMW.

 

Your vehicle requires BMW Operating System 8 (service pack 2021), BMW Operating System 8.5 (service pack 2021) or BMW Operating System 9 and the options "Parking Assistant Plus" or "Parking Assistant Professional" and "alarm system". For snapshots of the interior, your vehicle also requires the option "interior camera". You must activate the Anti-Theft Recorder once in the vehicle and agree to the data transfer under: Apps menu > "All" > "Privacy". Your vehicle must be parked and locked and the alarm system must be activated. In the My BMW App settings, you must "allow push notifications".
