How do I set a charging target for my BMW electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle in the My BMW App?

BMW recommends a state of charge of between 10 and 80 percent to optimize the service life of the high-voltage battery of your BMW electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. To set a charging target of 80%, for example, select the following in the My BMW App:

  • "Vehicle" (tab)
  • "State of charge"
  • "Charging" in the status bar
  • "Charging target"
  • "Edit" and increase or decrease the charging target by 5 percent at a time.

You can also change the charging target in the My BMW App after starting the charging process.

 

Available for BMW electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles with BMW Operating System 8, BMW Operating System 8.5 and BMW Operating System 9.
