Can I log in to the My BMW App with a passkey?

Yes. The My BMW App supports the most secure login with passkeys as an alternative to entering your password. With a passkey, you confirm your identity using facial recognition, fingerprint or PIN. You must create the passkey once for your BMW ID in the My BMW portal and save it on your smartphone. 

Perform the following to create a passkey for your My BMW App:

1. Select "Profile" (person icon, bottom right)
2. "Settings" (gear icon, top right)
3. "Account data"
4. "Passkeys"
5. "Edit"
6. "Create passkey"
7. You will be prompted to enter your BMW ID password to add a passkey. 
8. Choose a method 
   
   • Facial recognition
   • Fingerprint
   • PIN
9. "Save"

Alternatively, you can create a passkey through the My BMW portal.

Perform the following to create on:

1. Log in to My BMW
2. Person icon (top right hand corner)
3. "Manage my login" (How can we help you?)
4. "Account data"
5. "Passkeys"
6. "Edit"
7. "Create passkey"
8. Choose a method
   • Facial recognition
   • Fingerprint
   • PIN
9. "Save"
