How do I turn the rear window defroster on/off in my BMW with BMW Operating System 8.5?

With the rear window defroster, ice and condensation are quickly removed from the rear window. 

 

To turn the rear window defroster on/off:

Press the rear window heating button on the instrument panel. 

 

The LED is illuminated with rear window defroster switched on.

 

The rear window defroster switches off automatically after a certain period of time
