How can I get the most out of my range in an electric vehicle?

By following these tips, you can optimize your electric vehicle’s range and get the most out of your vehicle's battery capacity.

  1. Driving Smoothly:  Avoid sudden acceleration and braking. Driving smoothly can improve your electric vehicle’s range. Sudden bursts of speed and harsh braking can reduce efficiency and consume more energy.
  2. Pre-conditioning:  Pre-condition your vehicle while it's still plugged in. This allows the vehicle and battery to reach the desired temperature before you start driving, reducing the energy required from the battery to maintain the cabin temperature, especially temperature extremes.
  3. Tire Pressure:  Ensure your tires are properly inflated to the recommended pressure. Underinflated tires can increase rolling resistance, leading to higher energy consumption and reduced range.
  4. Aerodynamics:  When not necessary, minimize the use of roof racks, bike carriers, or other accessories that can increase wind resistance and reduce your electric vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency, which can impact the range.
  5. Driving Conditions:  Environmental factors such as temperature, terrain, and wind can affect range. Driving in extreme temperatures, steep hills, or strong headwinds can reduce your range.
  6. Driving Speed:  Driving at higher speeds can significantly reduce range. Try to maintain a moderate, energy-efficient speed to maximize your range.
  7. Vehicle Maintenance:  Regularly maintain your vehicle, including checking for any issues that could affect its efficiency, such as worn tires or brakes.
  8. Select the most efficient drive mode (i.e., Eco Pro or MAX eDrive)
