How do I replace my BMW Key Fob Battery?

The battery replacement is a single C-R-2-0-3-2 coin battery. These can be found at any general store or your favorite online retailer. 

  1. Press the button to remove the valet key.
  2. Then pull back the back cover to remove the outer housing.
  3. Using a small flathead screwdriver, gently pull the battery out to remove the battery from the clips.
  4. Insert the new battery in the same position.
  5. Slide the outer housing in place until you hear a click.
  6. Slide the valet key into the bottom part of the housing and you’ll hear another click.
