How do I turn on /off the Gesture Control in my BMW with BMW Operating System 7 or BMW Operating System 8.5?

Several iDrive functions can be operated by hand motion using BMW Gesture Control. The camera in the headliner detects gestures that are carried out in the area of the center console at the height of the control display. 

Depending on which BMW Operating System your vehicle has, perform the following steps.

 

BMW Operating System 7:

Activate/deactivate:

BMW Operating System 8.5:
