How do I map a charging route with the My BMW App?

The My BMW App plans the optimized route with charging stops for you so the destination is reached as quickly and efficiently as possible.

 

  1. Launch the My BMW App with your connected BMW.
  2. Click the map and enter your destination.
  3. Then tap ‘View Route’ to see an overview.
    • The range and route tool calculates a route with ideal charging stops based on the battery charge, current traffic, availability of charging stations, the max charging power, and the estimated charging times.
    • Planning options make it easy to adjust filters based on your itinerary or preferences. You can adjust how much battery charge you want to finish your trip with. Set it to 20% if you need range while at your destination which may add another charging stop along the way.
    • Heading back home to your home charger? Set it to 10%.
    • For shorter charging stops you can increase the minimum battery at charging stops. You can also just keep it to 10% to stop less often. In the end, it is all up to you.
    • Tap an individual charging stop in the route overview to learn more about it. Such as the charging power and estimated charging time. You can also see which amenities are nearby.
  4. Return to route overview and “Send To My BMW – include suggested stops”.
  5. Once you get into your BMW your route will be ready for you.
  6. Find it in Navigation, then My Destinations and then Future Destinations.
