Is BMW ConnectedDrive the same as the My BMW App?

BMW ConnectedDrive and the My BMW App interface with each other, but they are not the same. BMW ConnectedDrive is a digital platform that allows for an extensive portfolio of features, while the My BMW App is a smartphone app that allows access to some of those remote features, like vehicle locater, remote engine start, and BMW Digital Key.
