In the “Navigation” App, select “Destination Input” to search for an address, a point of interest, a contact or coordinates.
As you enter the first letters, BMW Maps suggests likely destinations. Under “Recent Destinations” select destinations you've recently entered with logged into your BMW ID account. Go to “My destinations” to save places you frequently drive to for quicker selection in the future.
In Map view, choose between three different modes. These are “Reduced," “Expanded” and “Adaptive." The latter automatically shows map items fitting to your specific driving situation – like resting or charging opportunities.
If you need more visual support, when you drive with an active route guidance, go to “Settings” to select and activate “Augmented View." See how additional guidance graphics indicate your next maneuver over a real time image of the road ahead of you. BMW Maps in BMW Operating System 8 offers “Learning Navigation” when you're not driving with an active route guidance.
The navigation system will learn your preferences, like destinations, routes and departures. Based on these insights, BMW Maps can inform you via push notification in the My BMW App – i.e. about current traffic jams or a faster route to your usual commuting destination.
