How do I use different text inputs in my BMW?

When you need to enter a name (for example: a Driver's profile), you have three options at your disposal. 

 

1. Use the iDrive controller to select different letters, and you can select upper or lowercase letters by tilting the dial down.

 

2. Use your fingers on the touchscreen iDrive display, this functions as more of a traditional keyboard.

 

3. Use the voice commands in your BMW to dictate your name, or anything else you would input via text. Please note, the voice data entry function is not the same as the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which is used to control different functions of your BMW.
