How do I increase cargo (trunk) space in the BMW iX?

If you need extra space while loading your BMW iX from the tailgate, fold your backrests using the remote release levers located on the right side of the cargo area.

If there's nothing placed in the back seating area, just pull the top lever to release the right backrest. To release the middle and left backrest,  pull the bottom lever. 

Additionally, using the bottom lever located near each rear passenger seat will lower the seat. To lower the center backrest only, first disengage the center, next pull the exposed loop down to release the seat.
