How do I set up BMW Digital Key Plus for my BMW?

The BMW Digital Key Plus is a digital vehicle key on your compatible smartphone or your Apple Watch that allows you to conveniently and safely unlock or lock and start your BMW. To set up the BMW Digital Key Plus once, you need both vehicle keys in the interior and the engine of your BMW must be turned off. Your BMW's SIM card requires a mobile connection. Your mobile device must be compatible with the BMW Digital Key Plus and your BMW must be added to your BMW ID in the My BMW App.

Open the My BMW App and select:

  • "Vehicle" (tab)
  • "Digital Key"
  • "Set up your Digital Key"
  • Follow  the directions in the My BMW App and on the control display of your BMW. 

The BMW Digital Key Plus is stored in the Wallet app of your smartphone.
