How do I activate or deactivate Augmented View in my BMW with Operating System 8.5 or newer?

Augmented View provides support for upcoming maneuvers and parking at the destination. The feature consists of a camera image of the actual vehicle's surroundings, displaying relevant information for the maneuver such as turn information. Shortly before the destination is reached, information will be displayed on the instrument cluster enables the visualization of driver assistance systems on the actual vehicle's surroundings.

 

In Operating System 9:

Perform the following in the iDrive menu to activate or deactivate Augmented View:

  1. Go to the Navigation menu.
  2. Select the settings icon.
  3. "Augmented View"

 

In Operating System 8.5:

Perform the following in the iDrive menu to activate or deactivate Augmented View:

  1. Navigation menu
  2. "Settings"
  3. "Guidance"
  4. "Augmented View"
  5. Select the desired setting.

 

When tapping on the map view, the Augmented View will be closed.

Alternatively, Augmented View can be closed with a button on the left of the display.

 

If Augmented View was closed manually for an active maneuver, the active maneuver can be displayed again.
