How can I restart or "reboot" the BMW iDrive system in my BMW with BMW Operating System 9?

Perform the following in the iDrive menu to restart or "reboot" BMW Operating System 9:

  1. Apps menu
  2. "ConnectedDrive store"
  3. "Manage"
  4. "Update all"

Once complete, reboot the iDrive your of vehicle by pressing and holding the mute (VOL) button near the center console for 70 seconds with the car in drive-ready mode but parked. Once the screen goes blank, release the button and the system will restart.

 

Please Note: The steps above can be applied to device disconnecting, App issues, and issues connecting to in-vehicle apps and services.
