With Digital Key Plus, you don’t need to take your smartphone out of your pocket. It uses ultra-wideband technology to sense when your close to the vehicle.
First, ensure you have the My BMW App downloaded on your smartphone. To activate this feature, you must be in your vehicle with both key fobs, and the phone of the Primary BMW ID user.
- Open the My BMW App
- “Set up Digital Key Plus”
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add the Digital Key to your wallet.
Once paired, your smartphone becomes your Digital Key. With the Digital Key, you can lock, unlock, and even start your BMW with just your smartphone.
