How do I pair Digital Key Plus with my BMW with BMW Operating System 8.5?

With Digital Key Plus, you no longer need to take your smartphone out of your pocket. It uses ultra-wideband technology to sense when you’re close to the vehicle.

 

First, ensure you have the My BMW App downloaded on your smartphone. To activate this feature, you must be in your vehicle with both key fobs and the phone of the Primary BMW ID user.

 

  1. Open the My BMW App
  2. Tap “Set up Digital Key Plus”
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the Digital Key to your wallet. 
  4. Once paired, your smartphone becomes your Digital Key, granting you seamless access to your vehicle.
