How do I activate and use the BMW Anti-Theft Recorder?

If your BMW is equipped with the optional Alarm System, your vehicle can send push notifications with video footage to the My BMW App.

When the anti-theft alarm goes off, your vehicle cameras will start recording automatically, and you will receive a push notification in the My BMW App.

There you can see all triggered recordings, marked with the location of your car and the alarm time as well as a map view of the incident location and a list of the available camera recordings.  

The “Exterior Anti-Theft Recorder” is part of the optional Parking Assistant Plus or Parking Assistant Professional.

The Anti-Theft Recorder also works with the optional Interior Camera, which provides videos of the interior when the alarm system is triggered.
