How do I activate a WiFi Hotspot provided by AT&T in my BMW with BMW Operating System 7?

For equipped vehicles with BMW Operating System 7, perform the following to activate the WiFi Hotspot option provided by the AT&T network. 

  1. Via iDrive: "COM"
  2. "Mobile devices"
  3. Move the Controller to the right
  4. Activate Internet Connection via “Settings” if necessary.
  5. "New device"
  6. "Internet, apps"
  7. Hotspot name and hotspot code are displayed on the Control Display
  8. Search for WiFi networks on the mobile device. Select network name on the device.
  9. Enter hotspot code on the device and connect. The device is displayed in the device list. Additionally, a QR code will be displayed on the Control Display. Alternatively, this QR code can be used to pair the mobile device with the hotspot. All devices connected via the hotspot use this data volume.

Once connected to the WiFi Network, open your device’s internet browser and navigate to www.bmwusa.com and press "Go". The browser will then automatically be redirected to the AT&T registration page. For the fastest login experience, choose “Express Registration” and sign in using your BMW ID. For further assistance from AT&T, please call 866-595-1222.

 

Please note:  To connect another/new device after hotspot has already been activated, perform the steps above.
