What options do I have to charge the BMW i4 at home or on the road?

BMW of North America offers two solutions to charge your BMW i4 at home:
 

  1. The Flexible Fast Charger and the NEMA 14-50 adapter come standard with BMW i4. The Flexible Fast Charger also comes standard with BMW Plug-in Hybrid vehicles, however, the NEMA 14-50 must be purchased separately. When connected to a 240V, 40A circuit, using the NEMA14-50 adapter, battery BMW electric vehicles can charge at up to 9.6kW (enough to fully charge your vehicle overnight). Plug-in Hybrid BMW vehicles can charge at a rate of 7.4kW.

  2. The BMW Wallbox delivers Level 2 charging of up to 9.6 kW charging speed.  With its robust and weather-proof design, the BMW Wallbox can be installed in your garage or outdoors.  In addition to its space-saving, compact dimensions, the Wallbox also delivers convenient cable management, including 25 feet of cable, connector, and wall holders. 

Any home charging solutions require installation by a certified electrician. 

 

 

When on the road, the battery can be charged with AC or DC power at charging stations. Learn more about BMW Charging.
