Can I also charge my BMW electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle at a Wallbox from another manufacturer?

It is recommended to use the BMW Wallbox, as it is specifically tested with BMW vehicles.

 

You can use a wallbox from another manufacturer.  If you already have installed a wallbox with a J1772 connector (NOT the Tesla connector), you can also use this wallbox with your BMW vehicle. Please check that the wallbox operates with 240V and a current of min 40A. Only this allows high charging power and shorter charging times at home.
