What do the colors of the LED display on the charging socket of my BMW electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle mean?

The LED display on the charging socket indicates the status of the charging session.

  • Orange: Charging is being initialized.
  • Blue flashing: High‑voltage battery is actively charging
    • Solid blue:  Charging is paused or scheduled. 
  • Green: Battery is fully charged. 
  • Red flashing: An error occurred or incorrectly connected charging plug. 

When the vehicle is locked, the indicator light turns off after a short time.
