Can I also charge and discharge electric vehicles from other manufacturers using my BMW Wallbox Professional?

You can also charge electric vehicles from other manufacturers using your BMW Wallbox Professional, provided they have a DC charging socket.   However, bidirectional charging is initially only possible with BMW electric vehicles that support bidirectional charging. 

 

In the future, bidirectional charging will also be possible with electric vehicles from other manufacturers. The BMW Wallbox Professional has already undergone preparation for the required ISO 15118-20 standard.

 

Once this standard has been fully implemented on both the vehicle and infrastructure sides, bidirectional charging will be enabled for compatible third-party vehicles.
