Depending on the model and equipment, your BMW has the coasting function. The coasting function in your BMW is used to save power and is activated in certain drive modes, such as ECO PRO. As soon as you release the accelerator pedal and no engine braking effect is required, the transmission decouples the engine. As a result, your vehicle continues to roll with minimal resistance. In BMW models with mild hybrid technology, the engine can even be turned off temporarily in this state. As soon as you accelerate or brake again, the engine is seamlessly re-engaged. This system helps to increase efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. Please note: The coasting function is not available in INDIVIDUAL drive mode.
