How does the Steering Assistant work in my BMW?

The Steering Assistant in your BMW supports you in monotonous traffic situations, e.g. traffic jams or slow-moving traffic, in a certain speed range through steering interventions when tracking in the detected lane. Additionally, the driver assistance system automatically maintains the desired distance from a vehicle ahead, regulates the vehicle's speed down to standstill, and provides active steering support. The system uses cameras and radar to orient itself to the lane boundaries as well as to a vehicle in front.
