What does the green car with the line mean in the instrument cluster of my BMW in BMW Operating System 7 and 8?

Display in the instrument cluster:

Indicator light illuminates green: System is switched on. A lane boundary has been detected on at least one side of the vehicle and the system is ready to intervene. Warnings will be issued.

Indicator light flashes green: System is performing a steering intervention.
