How do I activate or deactivate the Lane Change Assistant in my BMW with BMW Operating System 8.5?

The Lane Change Assistant in your BMW also supports you when changing lanes on multi-lane roads. 

 

Perform the following to turn the Lane Change Assistant in your BMW with BMW Operating System 8.5 on or off:

  1. Apps menu
  2. "Vehicle apps"
  3. "Driving settings"
  4. "Driver Assistance"
  5. "Driving"
  6. "Assisted Driving"
  7. "Automatic Lane Change" 

 

The Lane Change Assistant is activated by actuating the turn signal lever. The lever must not snap into place, but must be tapped up to the resistance and then held until the assistant initiates the lane change. The system signals the lane change in the instrument cluster and depending on the setting in the BMW Head-up display by means of a green arrow, which indicates the direction beyond the detected lane boundary.
