When will the Fatigue Alert in my BMW have limited functionality?

If the function is limited, either no warning may be issued or an unwarranted warning may be issued. The Fatigue Alert in your BMW may become limited in the following situations: 

  • If the time is set incorrectly.
  • At a predominantly driven speed below approx. 43 mph/70 km/h.
  • With a sporty driving style such as during rapid acceleration or when cornering fast.
  • In active driving situations such as when changing lanes frequently.
  • When the road condition is poor.
  • In the event of strong side winds.
