Radar and camera-based Active Cruise Control with Stop and Go (from MY24 on called Distance Control) allows you to set a desired cruising speed and how close you can get to the vehicle in front of you. If your vehicle’s cameras and radar sensors detect a slower vehicle ahead, your BMW automatically slows down, and if needed, gently brakes to keep the following distance you chose. If the vehicle ahead fully stops, so does your BMW. If it accelerates, your BMW automatically does too…and it keeps (and won’t exceed) your selected speed and following distance. If the vehicle comes to a standstill (depending on the length of time), the system can be restarted by the driver.
