The cameras and sensors of your BMW must function perfectly even in rain, mud and snow. For this reason, cleaning technology is installed in the Rear View Camera. When the rear window washer system is activated, the lens of the Rear View Camera is automatically sprayed with washer fluid when required. There is no special cleaning technology for sensors. BMW recommends cleaning the sensors manually on a regular basis to ensure optimum function. Use a soft, damp cloth to carefully remove any dirt.
When the drive-ready state is switched on, if soiling is detected, the control display will recommend cleaning the Rear View Camera, or this option can be activated manually.
Perform the following to turn on the washer system:
- Apps menu
- "Vehicle"
- "Parking"
- "More"
- "Camera cleaning"
- Select the desired setting.
