What is Driver Monitoring, and why is it important?

Driver Monitoring is a safety feature within BMW Symbiotic Drive that helps ensure the driver remains attentive while assisted driving functions are active. Using vehicle sensors and an interior-facing camera, the system can detect whether the driver remains engaged with the driving task and ready to respond when needed.

 

This helps support safe operation of advanced driving assistance features and reinforces the driver's role as the individual responsible for the vehicle.
