Yes, you may need to change settings in your vehicle and/or My BMW App.

Privacy Settings
Depending on your iDrive version please see one of the following paths to ensure your Data Privacy settings in the vehicle are enabled for charging optimization:
- My Vehicle > iDrive settings > Data privacy > “All services including analysis”
- CAR > Settings > General settings > Data privacy > “All services including analysis”
- MENU > System settings > Data privacy > “All services including analysis”
Charging Settings
For new ChargeForward users, we require that you set your Charging Mode to “Charge Immediately” on your control display or via the My BMW App. This allows our systems to gather data that will be used to smart charge your vehicle. (Please note: Our system learns the specific charging behavior from your vehicle and may not optimize for the first several sessions.)
Once our systems have enough charging data (generally three full charge sessions with “Charge Immediately enabled”), you can set your vehicle to “Charge in time slot” if you so choose."
