With Bluetooth® audio, you can play back audio files from mobile devices in your BMW via the vehicle's sound system, e.g., via a streaming service from your smartphone. Data is transmitted via Bluetooth®. Bluetooth® audio playback can be activated when logging in to the mobile device. Bluetooth® audio playback can be activated and deactivated at any time in the device list. Please note: Bluetooth® must be activated on your mobile phone.
▷ Playback of music files on external devices such as audio devices or mobile phones via Bluetooth®.
▷ The volume of the sound output depends on the device. If necessary, adjust the volume setting on the device.
▷ Depending on the equipment version, up to four external devices can be connected to the vehicle. Two of these devices can be used for Bluetooth audio.
▷ With Bluetooth devices, the extent of functions that can be operated using iDrive may be restricted depending on the supported Bluetooth version. If necessary, the missing functions can be accessed directly on the device itself.
Selecting the Bluetooth device:
- "MEDIA"
- Select the required Bluetooth device from the list.
If the Bluetooth device is not shown on the device list, Bluetooth audio playback may not have been activated. Proceed as follows to activate Bluetooth audio playback:

- Select the desired Bluetooth device.

- "Allow connections"
