How does Presence Detection work in the 2027 BMW iX3?

Presence Detection in the 2027 BMW iX3 indicates the possible presence of people or animals in the vehicle when it is parked. You will receive a warning message if something is detected: When you turn off the drive-ready state, you will receive a message on the central display. Once all doors have been closed and the vehicle locked, you will receive a visual warning and a notification from the My BMW App on your smartphone within 10 seconds. The interior camera can distinguish between adults, children and animals in the front seats. If adults are detected in the front seats, no warning is issued. The sensors that monitor the occupancy of the rear seats detect people and animals, but are unable to distinguish between them.
