How do I control the charging and discharging process for bidirectional charging with the 2027 BMW iX3?

Bidirectional charging with the 2027 BMW iX3 and the BMW Wallbox Professional can be controlled via the vehicle or the My BMW App. You can select the Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functions in the app.  

 

Depending on your needs, you can set a minimum state of charge in the vehicle or the app to ensure your mobility requirements. Up to this point, the BMW iX3 is immediately charged at maximum speed to cover daily trips or emergencies, for example. In addition, the high-voltage battery is used for bidirectional charging and, depending on the application, is both charged and discharged.  

 

In order to be best prepared for longer trips, an additional departure time including charging target can be set in addition to the minimum state of charge. Once the minimum has been reached as quickly as possible, charging is optimized until the charging target is reached.
