Which activities trigger the automatic activation of the BMW ID in the 2027 BMW iX3?

Your BMW utilizes driver recognition to seamlessly activate your personal settings during the following activities:

  • By unlocking the vehicle using the button on the assigned vehicle key.
  • By unlocking the vehicle using an outside door handle.

 

You are greeted on the welcome screen with your profile name and profile image configured with the My BMW App.

 

Please note: Driver recognition requires that you have the assigned vehicle key or the assigned Digital Key with you. It may not be possible to set up a Digital Key for driver recognition if your smartphone is not compatible. Learn more about with which mobile devices you can use the BMW Digital Key.

 

In the following cases, it may be difficult for the vehicle to recognize the driver and, therefore, activate the correct BMW ID for that driver:

  • In the event of a driver change without the vehicle being locked and unlocked
  • If there are several vehicle keys or several Digital Keys outside on the driver's side of the vehicle to which a BMW ID is assigned
  • If the vehicle was unlocked via the My BMW App

 

In such cases, you must manually select the BMW ID in the vehicle by changing the driver profile via the

driver profile icon or the profile picture in the status bar of the Operating System X central display.

1. To switch driver profiles, tap the driver profile icon or profile picture (in the upper right of the central display).

2. Select the desired driver profile.

3. If necessary, enter a PIN.
