How do I activate automatic driver recognition of my BMW ID in the 2027 BMW iX3?

By assigning a vehicle key or a Digital Key to your BMW ID, the 2027 BMW iX3 automatically activates your personal settings when you unlock and you are greeted on the welcome screen with your profile name and profile image from the My BMW App.

 

To activate automatic driver recognition, select the following on the central display:

  • “BMW ID" (profile icon in the status field at the top right or Apps menu)
  • "All"
  • "BMW ID"
  • "Settings" (gear icon)
  • "Key link"

 

Follow the instructions on the central display and select the desired physical key or a smartphone for the BMW Digital Key Plus. The first physical key and the main key for the BMW Digital Key Plus are automatically linked to the profile. All other shared digital keys can be linked manually in the menu. The key links can be managed in the menu.
