The Integrated Braking System in the 2022 BMW iX and 2026 BMW iX provides maximum vehicle control and driving dynamics through dynamic and precise vehicle stabilization, as well as greater sportiness and a better sense of safety through a binding pedal feel. The brake activation, brake booster, and braking control functions are integrated into a compact module. An electric actuator triggers the required brake pressure, generating pressure more dynamically and enabling faster, more precise interventions from the driving stability control system. The integrated braking system provides stopping power precisely matched to the driver's inputs, while maintaining consistent pedal feel unaffected by wet roads, lateral acceleration, or high temperatures.
Unwanted pedal feedback is eliminated during energy recuperation. Drivers can choose between recuperation when the accelerator is released (one-pedal feeling in driving position B), coasting with adaptive recuperation (in driving position D), or a combination of the two. These settings optimize the efficiency of Brake Energy Regeneration.
