How well is the BMW kidney grille of the 2022 BMW iX and 2026 BMW iX protected against scratches and damage?

Despite its size and exposed position, the BMW kidney grille of the 2022 BMW iX and 2026 BMW iX remains largely without scratches and damage, for example from stone chips. An additional polyurethane coating reduces the kidney grille’s susceptibility to damage. The self-healing effect of its surface repairs minor scratches, for example – within 24 hours at room temperature or through a five-minute supply of warm air.
