Can I attach a trailer hitch to my 2026 BMW iX?

Yes, you can attach a trailer hitch to your 2026 BMW iX. The vehicle offers an optional factory-installed trailer hitch that will enable increased towing power up to 7,200 lbs. However, it's important to note that with the addition of the trailer hitch, the "foot-kick" capability in Comfort Access will be removed. The "foot-kick" feature allows you to open the tailgate or trunk by simply kicking your foot under the rear of the vehicle. But this functionality will not be available if you opt for the trailer hitch.

Please Note:

  • When towing please ensure to always use appropriately rated equipment and trailer with appropriate braking.
  • The permissible trailer load, axle load, tongue weight, and permissible gross vehicle weight are specified in the technical data.
  • In some states, aftermarket trailer brakes are required.
